In 2001, the MBS Group entered the Publishing business with the launch of, what was at that time, the sole English language monthly family-magazine called, ‘Kuwait This Month’. The publishing of an Arabic social life-style magazine called ‘Al Wajaha’, as well as the printing of numerous guidebooks, trade-directories and corporate brochures were also undertaken by the Publishing Division. In 2006, the first Pan-Arab English language retail magazine called ‘Arabian Retailer’ was launched.

Supplementing the publishing activities, a DVD production arm, MBS TV, was established in 2005. This high-end DVD production unit is engaged in scripting, filming and in post-production work of superior-quality corporate videos.

In this demanding milieu, the Arabian Retailer is poised to become the region's leading source of industry-related information intended to augment retail trade in the region. Each month the Arabian Retailer covers all aspects of retail trade and ancillary support industries and structures including in-depth articles and analysis by retail specialists as well as the latest trends and focused case-studies of winning trade strategies. In addition to profiles and interviews with eminent industry personalities and objective reviews of the latest cutting-edge trade technologies, the magazine also carries regular features like upcoming international and regional events, trade statistics, classifieds, and job opportunities.

ARetailer.com is intended to be a supplementary arm to Arabian Retailer, mirroring the articles, analysis, strategies and statistics that appear each month in the print version. But also, additionally, the ARetailer.com provides an interactive venue for sharing views and technical insights with peers and experts in the retail industry. The forum on ARetailer.com will be a meeting place of minds – a place that provides a setting for people in the local retail community to air their views on industry related topical issues and to learn of the latest retail news, brainstorm new strategies and review the latest technologies as they emerge in the retail world.

In a region as diverse as the Arab World with per capita incomes and GDPs that range from among the highest in the world to those that are at the lowest; from countries rich in oil to those starved of any natural resources, the Arab world encompasses one of the most economically challenging markets in the world. Understanding and catering to the widely varying retail market in this region calls for a special brand of retailer, one who is capable of focusing on the subtle nuances and variance in preferences that underscore countries in this region.
